Roles
Who can do what, by role.
Who can do what. Words are defined in the Glossary, the steps in the Guides.
The roles
- Anyone, signed in or not, can open the public site: published events and their program, host pages, pricing, and the checkout.
- A signed-in person can buy tickets, see their tickets and orders, accept a ticket sent to them, and create a host, which makes them its owner.
- An attendee is a signed-in person with a valid ticket to an event. They see their tickets in that event, can claim one, and can send an unclaimed one.
- With a claimed ticket, an attendee also gets the pass and its QR code, reads announcements, asks questions, connects with others, and saves and likes sessions.
- Staff are event members who run the desk of one event: look people up, check them in, print badges, issue walk-ins, send tickets, and read the attendee list.
- Admins are event members who also manage that event's content: details, program, ticket types, attendees, announcements, questions, API keys.
- Host members can do everything an admin can, in every event the host runs, and can read the host's pages.
- Host owners also create, publish, and delete events, manage event members, run the store, and manage the host: its members, Stripe, plan, and card.
- A super admin is a Convova operator. They can do everything in every event and create events for any host. A host's own pages open for them only if they are a member of it. Their address is set in configuration and cannot be changed in Settings or at the desk.
Roles add up. A host owner is also a host member; anyone with a ticket is an attendee, whatever else they are.
